New CARES Act Provides Funding for Education Technology

The CARES Act (Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security Act) recently signed by President Trump has provided many businesses and individuals with some much needed financial assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, what some may not realize, is that K-12 schools and higher education institutions are eligible to receive a part of the funds to improve their technology infrastructure and services.

With the COVID-19 pandemic prohibiting large gatherings of people, students are remaining at home while continuing their studies. This change has tested many educational institutions’ technology infrastructure as entire student body populations attempt to complete the remainder of their school year online.

While for some educator’s teaching online is as easy as launching a Zoom video conference, many are becoming wary of potential security issues with Zoom. On top of that, some educators that require more hands-on lessons and training activities, such as those in the medical field, require a more in depth set up that Zoom and similar video-sharing platforms cannot offer.

VALT, our video recording and observation platform, is a simple to use and affordable video system that is becoming more and more fundamental for an educational institution’s technology infrastructure. The system is designed to work within any institution’s technology infrastructure and can scale easily to fit the needs of a school.

Security is also paramount to the VALT system. We provide multiple technologies to assist with this including: data and video encryption, LDAP integration, extensive user permissions and rights, group containers, user access control, and a robust audit trail.

If you’re looking for a way to improve your remote-learning and video recording technology, VALT is the ideal solution. Learn more about VALT by requesting a demo today.
